This means long use per session, and due to their length, they are perfect for learning combinations. It has a lead loaded belly with a bolster. The whip is finished with a hand cut kangaroo leather in either one or two colours. It is finished with a 2ft red hide fall and Martin Outback cracker, a 6 plait cow hide handle and basic turks head knot on a 480x19mm Tasmanian Oak handle. Also the option of having a name, date or message engraved for additional cost.

Kangaroo leather is the stongest leather comparing to its overall weight. This allows leather tradesman to cut extremely thin pieces or strands, without sacrificing strength. If cow hide is cut as thin, even though it is a thicker hide, the grains of the leather are not as tightly bonded as kangaroo. Therefore, these whips are for more experienced users.

  • All whips need to be looked after to ensure they work correctly and do not degrade. Learning how to use a whip is paramount, and it should be considered purchasing an entry level whip to begin your whip cracking technique. Leather is a material that if not cared for correctly, it will break down, therefore following these instructions will give your product its longevity;

    • When using a leather whip, never use it in wet terrain, hard surfaces, or surfaces that have hard, sharp objects. This will cut, graze and rot the leather if not dried correctly.
    • Always attempt to crack the whip off the ground.
    • Always store in an indoor, cool area, and never leave in the sun. This will delay rapid dehydration of the leather, preventing cracking and tearing of the leather.
    • If done regularly, using any form of leather conditioner will allow the whip to be supple and flexible. This should be done once every three months, or when the whip is looking dry. (do not crack directly after application, as you will pick up debris from the surface you are cracking on).
    • If you cant correctly roll a whip, laying it down and curled on a flat surface is best, as this will prevent kinks in the thong after long duration of being hung incorrectly.

    PLEAE NOTE - Any white residue on leather is leather conditioner.
